Get to Know Vanessa & Samantha
Yes, before you ask, we are sisters!
We grew up surrounded by a small family business in manufacturing - S&L WasteTech - owned and operated by our parents! We enjoyed the trade and wanted to help grow this family business, so we both completed the Mechanical Engineering Technology program at Algonquin College.
For those wondering, there are two years between us - Vanessa being the older, yet shorter one!
While in our program we worked part time for S&L WasteTech, and used our skills to create 3D drawings, design containers, prepare work orders, operate the plasma table, as well as learn the business! It wasn’t long after, we started designing and cutting custom detailed metalwork and fire pits for local friends and family … and that’s when V&S Designs started in 2015!
We completed our programs in 2017 & 2019 and began working full time for S&L WasteTech as mechanical designers. V&S Designs was able to grow as well, and now these two business work together everyday! We do our best to create relationships with our customers whether they interact with us as V&S Designs or S&L WasteTech
Over the years V&S Designs has grown so much, and we could not have done that without the support from family, friends and our fantastic customers that continue to return, share feedback and refer us to their family and friends!
